Election Information
Members of the Board of Trustees are elected for three-year terms. Annual elections are held the first Saturday in May. Board members are sworn in at the May regular meeting. Board officers are elected at the June regular meeting. The staggered Election Schedule is as follows:
2025 Place 1 and Place 5 - Earl Foster and Katy Duke
2026 Place 3 and Place 7 - Suzanne Brown and Mark Kincaid
2027 Place 2, Place 4, and Place 6 - Angela Moore, Ross Behrens, and David Bennett
The next Board of Trustees Election will take place on May 3, 2025. The window to file candidate applications is January 15, 2025 to February 14, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates may file their application with Jessi Carpenter at Burnet CISD Central Office located at 208 E. Brier Street, Burnet, TX 78611.
Unofficial Results for May 4, 2024 BCISD Board of Trustees Election
After Saturday’s School Board Election, three incumbents will be returning to the Burnet CISD Board of Trustees with one new face joining the Board.
Four Places were on the ballot before voters: Place 2, Place 4, Place 5, and Place 7. Vice President Angela Moore ran unopposed in Place 2. Trustee Ross Behrens ran unopposed in Place 4, and newcomer David Bennett ran unopposed in Place 6, which was previously held by Robby Robertson. After 18 years on the Board, Robertson had earlier announced his retirement from the Board and did not run.
In Place 5, incumbent appointed Trustee Katy Duke faced challenger Amber Cardenas. According to unofficial results from Burnet County Elections, Duke defeated Cardenas with 54.80 percent of the vote.
All election results are unofficial until votes are canvassed, which will take place on or before May 15. Moore, Behrens, Duke, and Bennett will all take the oath of office on May 20.
