Tuition-Free Attendance: Your children may attend BCISD schools even if you are not a district resident. Make arrangements through the Superintendent’s office (756-2124).
Professional development opportunities: Teachers who attend approved workshops on their own time are granted “comp” days on scheduled in-service days as noted on the official calendar.

403B-Supplemental Retirement Program: BCISD will match $1 for every $2 invested by employees in a supplemental deferred compensation program up to an annual maximum of 3% of the employee’s salary.
Leave Days: There are four local days of leave provided for every full-time employee in addition to the state mandated five personal days.
Two local days of leave are reimbursable at the daily rate if unused at the end of the school year. Two local days are cumulative if unused at the end of the year. (Refer to local leave policy for guidelines on use of leave.)
Reimbursement for unused sick leave days upon retirement: All full-time employees that retire with more than five years of service with BCISD receive compensation for unused sick leave days at the following rates:
• 5-9 Years - 15% Current Daily Rate
• 10+ Years - 30% Current Daily Rate
Sick Leave Pool: A sick leave pool may be set up to offset loss of earnings in the event of a catastrophic illness or disability sustained by you or an immediate member of your family.
Insurance Programs:
Health: TRS ActiveCare (Blue Cross Blue Shield or Scott & White) $300.00/Month-Paid to TRS by BCISD toward cost of insurance
Dental: Boon Chapman Benefits, traditional policy for employee paid by BCISD
Vision: Boon Chapman Benefits, traditional policy for employee paid by BCISD
Life: $30,000 paid by BCISD
Disability: Available through payroll deductions
Cafeteria Plan: This benefit allows employees to increase their take home pay by sheltering part of their income from taxes. No cost to the employee.

Tax-sheltered annuities or investments: Buy investments for the future paid with money that isn’t taxed until you cash in your investment. Available during back to school enrollment. Notification and information regarding enrollment will be sent to your campus/department.
